The primary purpose of the Cooling Water System is to provide a supply of conditioned cold water to the Condenser, which removes the energy remaining in the steam exhaust from the turbine so it can be condensed efficiently. This provides optimum energy removal for the Water steam cycle.
Each unit has its own cooling water system, the main components of which include 1 hybrid cooling tower consisting of 7 cells, 1 cooling water basin, 1 pump suction basin and two 50% duty cooling water pumps.
