Our Wind Turbines

Introduction

Our wind turbines produce an electrical current by using the kinetic or moving energy of wind to create motion.

Anemometer - located atop a turbine with a purpose of measuring wind speed and direction. It constantly sends information to a controller to ensure the turbine is generating the maximum possible amount of electricity.

Rotor – a lightweight three-bladed cantilevered construction, which when facing upwind is subject to sustained motion.

Tower - a tapered steel tower which raises the rotor into the sky. The higher the tower the more electricity is produced.

Nacelle – the streamlined housing located which contains all mechanical, electrical and technical components necessary to convert wind energy into electrical energy.
