Raw Water Pre-Treatment Area

The purpose of the pre-water treatment system is to clarify intake water from the Manchester ship canal to a quality suitable for use in the main cooling water system and to manage the by-product removed by the clarification process. It has two main processes - flocculation and clarification, and sludge extraction and handling.
