No combustion takes place in the HRSGs. Instead, it extracts the heat contained in the exhaust from the gas turbine which would otherwise exit through the stack. Pure water, which circulates through interconnecting pipework modules, is heated by the exhaust gas, converted to steam and piped at various pressures to the steam turbine.
