  • The GT26 Combustion Sequence

  • The GT26 Combustion Sequence
    1. The 22 compressor stages raise the air pressure to 33 times atmospheric and 550°C.
    2. The compressor discharge air is tapped off to cool the high pressure turbine and casing, then forced through the 24 environmental (EV) combustor.
  • The GT26 Combustion Sequence
    1. The EV burners are two stage firing burners (Primary and Premix), each with their own fuel gas supply.
    2. Compressor discharge air is put into a swirl around the Primary Fuel Gas Lance.
    3. Primary Fuel Gas is supplied to the burners and is ignited by Ignition Torches.
  • The GT26 Combustion Sequence
    1. As the load is increased and the flame stabilises, Premix Fuel Gas is supplied to the EV Burner.
    2. As the load increases further the Premix Fuel Gas is increased as the Primary Fuel Gas is reduced to zero.
    3. Excess air, a feature of the EV design, ensures a lower flame temperature than in comparable diffusion burners, resulting in a very low NOx level.
  • The GT26 Combustion Sequence
    1. After expanding through the HP Turbine, the exhaust gas enters the Sequential Environmental (SEV) Combustion Chamber.
    2. The SEV burner is supplied with its own fuel gas and carrier air.
    3. The SEV combustion chamber swirls the EV exhaust gas before the SEV burner.
    4. Finally, the exhaust gas is directed into the HRSG.
